Start of the great gastronomic festival of Roses

News | 22/03/2025

From yesterday, Friday March 21, and until March 30, the streets and premises of Roses will be filled with the public who, faithful to the appointment, will participate in the gastronomic party that every year becomes the Route of the Tapas of Roses and the DO Empordà wine. On this occasion, there are 84 bars, restaurants and pastries of the population adhered to the campaign, joining forces to promote local gastronomy. This year, in addition to the show of flavors, smells and textures, there will be a light show dedicated to the sea and fishing that will take place on March 28 and 29.

Artichoke croquette with truffle cream , fillet with foie gras shavings and shrimp and seafood ball, calçot hamburger, artichoke filled puff pastry with foie gras foam and quail egg, octopus cannelloni with la Vera paprika velouté, ribeye nigiri, beef with spherification of Roses shrimp reduction on millefeuilles, brunyols with Catalan cream ice cream... these are just some of the 84 creations that can be tasted during the ten-day duration of the Route .

The price of each tapa , which includes a zurito " of wine or water, remains at €3.5 this year.

With the participation of 14 wineries from the DO Empordà

As an added value, all the tapas are marinated with wines, grenaches, muscats and sparkling wines from DO Empordà wineries. This year, there are 14 wineries that have wanted to contribute to the wine and food experience: Empordàlia, Celler Pere Guardiola, Bodega Trobat, Viticultors Espelt, Cooperativa Agrícola Garriguella, AV Bodeguers, Vins i Cavas Perelada, Alregi, Celler Marià Pagès, Celler Arché Pagés, Celler Espolla, Mas Llunes, Grup Oliveda Vins i Cavas and Oliver Conti.

On the 28th and 29th, light show 'The Soul of the Sea'

The City Council's Economic Promotion Department, promoter of the Ruta de les Tapas, is adding a new attraction this year that will complete the gastronomic and wine offer. It is a light and sound show that will take place on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 March. Under the name 'L'ànima del mar' , and using rays of light and projections, the public will be able to attend a show created especially for the occasion, where images will be presented that will highlight the maritime environment of Roses, the world of fishing and its local produce.

The projections will be made over the sea, between the two breakwaters of the Riera Ginjolers . The recommended place for viewing is the esplanade at the end of the Ginjolers boulevard, where the Ziggurat sculpture is located. It can be seen between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. , both Friday and Saturday, with passes every 30 minutes.

An app with geolocation so you don't miss anything on the Route

This year, the Route is launching a new mobile application that will allow the audience to quickly and intuitively access all the information they need to make the most of the experience: a list of establishments with geolocation, opening times, photographs of each tapa, adapted establishments, etc. In addition, the new app will also simplify the voting system for the best tapas thanks to QR technology. To use the new app , you must first uninstall the previous Ruta de les Tapas application and then download the new one, which is already available in the different stores for both Android and iOS.

Awards for the best cover and the audience

As in previous editions, the audience will be able to participate (through a ballot or via app ) in the contest to choose the best tapa of the campaign . To be eligible for the prizes, you must taste 9 different tapas and vote for your favorite tapa. Among all participants, 5 prizes will be drawn consisting of a 'Tapes Passport', a nominal voucher that will allow its holder to enjoy all the tapas of the 2026 edition of the Route for free. In addition to the winner by popular vote, a professional jury will also vote for their winning tapa.
