This year, 2022, the Roses Marina has once again been awarded the Blue Flag distinction, which it has held since 2006.

The Blue Flag is an award granted by the European Foundation for Environmental Education, in collaboration with the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac), which manages the campaign in Spain, to reward the beaches and marinas with the highest environmental quality.

Obtaining this qualification is the result of management measures in bathing areas, improvements in the sanitation systems implemented in coastal municipalities and water environment control and inspection measures.

The ports and clubs that have been awarded in Gerona are:

  • Port Esportiu de Roses
  • C.N. Llançà
  • C.N. Port de la Selva
  • C.N. L’Escala
  • C.N. L’Estartit
  • C.N. Aiguablava (Begur)
  • C.N. Costa Brava (Palamós)
  • C.N. Port d’Aro (Platja D’Aro)
  • Club de Vela Blanes

Catalonia regains this distinction for 4 beaches and gets a special mention in environmental education in one of its municipalities.

Compared to last year, Catalonia "loses" 3 Blue Flags on its beaches and "gains" 1 in ports and clubs.
