The City Council consolidates the bathing area adapted for people with reduced mobility and the elderly

This summer, the City Council is maintaining the adapted bathing area installed on La Punta beach, a space designed to facilitate access to the sea and guarantee safe enjoyment of the beach for people with reduced mobility, dependent people and groups of the elderly. The facility has a rest area with seats and safe swimming channels, with a floating and modular structure. Access is free.

After the good experience of last season, the council has decided to continue this service, which expands the accessibility of the municipality's urban beaches and contributes to making Roses an increasingly inclusive destination.

The facility offers a central shaded area with seating for relaxation, support rails and a shallow swimming area that allows users to stand or sit safely in the water. It also has a physical mobilization channel that facilitates walking or swimming with support in the sea.

The councilor for the Environment and Beaches, Lluís Espada, highlights that "the consolidation of this space responds to the municipal will to continue advancing the universal accessibility of our beaches, guaranteeing that everyone can enjoy the coastline under equal conditions."

For her part, the councilor for the Elderly, Ester Navas, points out that " many elderly people find it difficult to access the sea safely. This adapted area offers them a comfortable, accessible and safe space to continue enjoying the benefits of swimming during the summer months."

The adapted bathing area complements other accessible services that the City Council offers on the beaches of Roses, such as the walkways that allow access to the shore on urban beaches, the support railings installed on different beaches in the municipality, amphibious chairs, adapted toilets and parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility.
