Underwater cleaning: Montjoi and fishing port.

News | 07/10/2025

The Port of Roses has recently carried out two underwater cleaning operations aimed at preserving the marine environment and ensuring a more sustainable port and coastline.
The activities took place at Cala Montjoi and the fuel station area of the fishing port, where port staff, together with members of the Club Badia de Roses, Submon, and the Roses Fishermen’s Guild, removed various types of waste accumulated on the seabed, such as plastics, metals, tyres, and other materials that affect biodiversity and water quality.

These clean-ups are part of the Port of Roses’ ongoing commitment to protecting the marine environment and promoting responsible environmental management, within the framework of its annual actions for the improvement and conservation of the natural surroundings.

In addition, the activities helped raise awareness among port users and citizens about the importance of keeping coastal areas free of waste, thus promoting a culture of respect for the sea.

The Port of Roses thanks all participants for their collaboration and reminds everyone that caring for the marine environment is a shared responsibility between administrations, professionals, and visitors.
