Summer is filled with cinema, stories and games for the whole family at the Roses Library

News | 26/06/2026

The Jaume Vicens Vives Municipal Library in Roses presents a new edition of summer activities aimed at families, with a special program that will take place throughout the months of July and August. The proposals will focus on three main activities: cinema, stories and puzzles, and are designed to encourage reading habits, imagination and shared play between young and old.

The Library continues for another summer promoting culture and education in leisure, offering free and accessible activities that invite families to enjoy a lively, participatory space open to everyone during the school holidays. This year's offer is structured into three different programs: Petit Cinema, Contes d'estiu and Tardes de puzzle.

Petit Cinema is a series of children's films that will take place every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The sessions are recommended for children from 4 years old and include some of the most outstanding titles in recent family cinema, such as Migration , Flow , The Magic of Doremi and other films that invite you to live adventures, discover new worlds and share emotions through the big screen.

On Thursdays at 6 p.m. it will be the turn of Summer Stories , recommended for children from 3 years old. Through the voice and creativity of the storytellers, the little ones will be able to delve into stories full of fantasy and fun with proposals such as Sal i Sol , Contes de viatges , Contes musicales , Les bruixes no ens fan por or Contes dins la capsa , among others.

Finally, every Monday the library will host Puzzle Afternoons , an activity aimed at children aged 4 and over who must be accompanied by an adult. This proposal offers a time of shared and cooperative play through the resolution of puzzles adapted to different ages and levels of difficulty, promoting concentration, patience, logic and teamwork between adults and children.

Reading recommendations for the summer

In parallel, the library offers a recommended reading service for the summer each summer, with the development of a guide of recommendations for the different primary school cycles. The schools have distributed the guides among their students before the end of this course and the library has specific spaces with the highlighted books grouped by cycles and sections. Books of different reading levels, knowledge or thematic books and comics are recommended.

The guides are available to the public through this link.
