Roses proposes discovering its heritage with immersive activities, games and night visits for all audiences
Taking advantage of the summer holidays and the arrival of the tourist season, the Roses Culture Area is once again offering this summer a wide program of activities to discover, or rediscover, its two heritage emblems: the Citadel of Roses and the Castell de la Trinitat. The program is aimed at all types of public and offers, from classic guided tours, to immersive activities with 3D technology, family games, or night experiences under the moonlight.
This summer the heritage spaces of Roses will once again become the setting for an extensive range of activities designed for audiences of all ages to discover the history and heritage of the municipality in a participatory and immersive way. All activities are offered in different languages to facilitate access for both the local public and the numerous visitors who choose Roses as a tourist destination during the summer.
Opening of premises and guided tours
The Ciutadella de Roses remains open during the summer every day of the week, from 10 am to 9 pm, offering the guided tour "History Walks" daily, in three shifts (Catalan, Spanish and French).
For its part, the Castell de la Trinitat is open every day from 5 to 10 p.m. and, also daily and in three languages, organizes the visit A Fortified Viewpoint . In addition, on different days in both July and August, it opens the doors of its bunker to offer a guided tour that reveals its origins and construction and allows you to understand its role in the defense of the population in the different conflicts experienced on the Catalan coast.
Technology at the service of culture
Both the Ciutadella and the Castle have an innovative and immersive activity that allows you to learn about the history of the two monuments, their different settlements and what life was like and the activity that developed there over the centuries, through the Virtual Reality Game with 3D glasses .
Visiting the Rosinc heritage under the moonlight
For a few seasons now, Roses has been offering the possibility of visiting and touring the Ciutadella and the Castell de la Trinitat at night, under the stars and moonlight. In addition, these night visits are accompanied by activities that make the experience even more attractive.
In the case of the Ciutadella, we find Navigators from Rhode to Roses , a visit that transports the visitor through 25 centuries of history, and which culminates with a tasting and glass of DO Empordà wine . The Castle , for its part, organizes the night visits The Fortress of the Sea, where you can enjoy the visual spectacle offered by its viewpoint over the illuminated bay accompanied by a glass of cava , and the activity Night of Stars, consisting of a night visit with astronomical observation.
In August, the theatrical visits Inhabitants de la história (Ciutadella) are added to the night options , and Cochrane lights up the Castle with the Festa Major Fireworks (Castell de la Trinitat).
The game as a tool to learn about and appreciate heritage
For families, the heritage of Roses also offers different alternatives.
