How much VAT is on the mooring?
 
The tariffs are calculated with a VAT of 21%.
What happens when the concession period is over?
 
As soon as the administrative concession period is over all rights of the owner as well as those of third persons extinguish.The owner of the right of preferential use enjoys a preferential right to continue this use according to the Harbour Legislation of Catalonia.
What happens when the owner of the right dies?
 
All rights are transferred to the husband / wife, the parents, children or blood relatives up to the fourth degree.
May this right be transferred for short periods?
 
Yes, as far as the owner does it through the port authorities and applies the tariffs for public use. When it is done upon the order of the owner of the right himself there are no fees to be paid. The owner may also agree with the port authority to let his mooring be rented; in this case the port charges 20% of the rental for its service
May this right be transferred to third persons ?
 
Yes. With the agreement of the port authorities and the administration. The port keeps an option of purchase. Should the port not make use of this prerrogative the owner of the title may transfer it to a third person. In this case the port receives a 10% fee as transfer fees. The new persons assumes the rights and obligations for the rest of the concession period.
Which type of mooring will you offer?
 
The project plans floating objects ("pantalanes") guided by a series of steel supports. The mooring consists of a concrete block, a main chain, a leading cable and a capstan.
What kind of service will the port offer?
 
Service for ships: Standby jetty. Ramp for light boats. Filling station 24 hours, ice cubes. Monitoring. General services for the user: Port authorities. Management and administration of the port. Tourist information and wheather forecast. Media: telephone, fax, Internet, VHF radio. Sailing school and school for other nautic sports. Ward. Showers and sanitary installations. Restaurant. Parkings. Supplies at the moorings: Water. Electricity. Ecologist services: Collection of oil and fuel. Separate collection of glass, paper and cardboard. Garbage collection. Cleaning of water. Bilge pumps.
What do I have to do to reserve a mooring?
 
You may call personally upon our offices: telephone 972 15 44 12 or by electronic mail ( info@portroses.com ) where you get all information and the reservation contract.
How much does it cost?
 
Prices are more or less the same than in the other yacht clubs of the Northern Costa Brava. See "Scale of charges".
Is it possible to rent a mooring?
 
Yes. You may rent such a mooring on a yearly, monthly oder daily basis.
What sort of insurance does the client have to have?
 
The owner of the right of use has to have a liability insurance, liability for compensation, larceny and other risks that the legislation will require at a given moment or that the port authorities will require.
Does the port have an insurance?
 
The port have the insurance policy that the legislation requires.
Are there any other payments to be made?
 
There is an annual contribution for the maintenance of the harbour, the supply of electricity and water, taxes, etc. according to the cuote of participation of each client. This contribution is paid every three months.
How are the payments made?
 
In order to facilitate the payments the amounts are paid by the bank account that the client has indicated.
Can I choose the location of my mooring?
 
No. The contract only stipulates the preferential right of use for a mooring of an agreed size. PORT DE ROSES will distribute the moorings according to its own criteria with regard to the best benefit for the port and reserves the right to change the location during the concession period
What means 'cession of a right for use'?
 
This means that the mooring is not your property. This is natural, since the Sea is a common good of mankind. The 'purchaser' therefore has only a preferential right for the use of a mooring during the agreed period of cession.
How will the sale be handled?
 
What is usually called a sale is in fact the cession of a right for preferential use of a mooring for a maximum period of 30 years, which is the term for the administrative concession.
Where is the port located?
 
The port is located in the Northern part of the fishing port of Roses and have a 70 meters broad opening to the South with a draught of 9 meters; the minimum draught in the port itself is of 2 meters
May the boat be larger than the mooring?
 
There is a table of measures that are generally considered as limits of tolerance. Nevertheless the general rule is that no boat or ship correctly anchored in the port may surpass the size of the mooring that was allocated to her. By 'measures of the boat' we understand the exact dates taken by an offici measurement including fenders and other fix installations on board.
How many moorings will the port have?
 
The yacht club dispose of 483 moorings, from 6 to 45m, of which 375 will have the character of a "preferential right of use", whereas the other ones are meant for ships that come in on a daily basis or for short periods.
